DESCRIPTION: FRITZ PREMIUM #1 Adhesive is a white, water-based, solvent-free, non-flammable adhesive, formulated to provide an exceptional bond when installing porous and non-porous surfaces substrates. Use Fritz Premium #1 Adhesive indoors on wood and concrete substrates, cementitious underlayments and underlayment boards, on, above or below grade levels. It is pre-mixed and ready to use. Fritz Premium #1 Adhesive has superior resistance to moisture exposure, but is not a water proof adhesive product.

ENVIRONMENT: Concrete in contact with the ground or below grade levels, requires the use of a moisture vapor retarding system. Fritz Industries, Inc. requires the use of the RMA Anhydrous Calcium Chloride Test in compliance with ASTM F-1869-98. A test result of 7 pounds or less per 1,000 square feet per 24 hours is considered a suitable slab for adhering Fritztile, rubber, and vinyl composition tiles. Ideal working conditions are 70 degrees Fahrenheit ambient and between 40% and 50% relative humidity.

LIMITATIONS: Do not allow adhesive to remain uncovered after the initial drying period. Do not use for Fritztile wall installations. Do not use outdoors or in areas that are subject to excessive moisture and/or temperatures above 85º Fahrenheit.

SURFACE PREPERATION : The surface to be installed MUST BE sound, clean, free of dirt, dust, wax, grease, paint, curing compounds, adhesives and any foreign matter that would interfere with the proper bonding of Fritz Premium #1 Adhesive to the substrate. OLD ADHESIVES MUST BE COMPLETELY REMOVED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF FRITZ PREMIUM #1 ADHESIVE. Patch all cracks and uneven surfaces with Fritz Industries underlayments. Level the substrate to tolerances no greater than 1/8" in 10 feet.

CONCRETE SURFACES: A Calcium Chloride test MUST BE PERFORMED on all concrete substrates to determine the moisture vapor transmission rate of the concrete. Do not exceed 7-pounds per 1,000 sq feet per 24 hours while adhering Fritztile, rubber, and vinyl backed tiles and 5 pounds for vinyl composition tile. The installer is responsible for determining the bond compatibility between the adhesive/material/substrate. A bond test is highly recommended to determine the presence of any deleterious compounds that may be present on the concrete surface. A porous concrete surface will decrease the open time of the adhesive. To determine if the substrate is porous, place a few drops of water in several areas. If the water is absorbed within a few seconds, the substrate is considered porous.

DIRECTIONS: Use a 3/32" x 3/32" x 3/32" U-notched trowel for all flooring. Once troweled, allow Fritz Premium #1 Adhesive to remain open approximately 45 minutes or until it is tacky before placement of the Fritztile. Once placed, the flooring must be rolled and re-rolled. A 150-pound, 3 section roller should be used for Fritztile, rubber and vinyl backed tile, and a 75 pound roller should be used for vinyl composition tiles and rolled until all material is firmly bonded and level with the adjoining tiles within 15 minutes of tile placement. Adhesive must transfer to tile and substrate.

COVERAGE: A 3/32" X 3/32" X 3/32" U- notched trowel will cover 100-120 square feet per gallon on non-porous floors and 80-100 square feet per gallon on porous floors. Substrate texture and porosity greatly affects coverage rate so you may experience coverage greater or lesser than stated. Keep trowels clean so that Fritz Premium #1 Adhesive is evenly and adequately distributed. Minimize adhesive to the substrate to maximize spread rates.
