Can Fritztile be installed over existing chipped ceramic tile? Will it stick? Will it telegraph? This would be in an existing residential kitchen. Also, if this is an application that would work, what thickness would you recommend?

You will need to put a layer of underlayment between the CT and the Fritztile, your suspicion is correct, the grout lines will telegraph.
